Father of the Month

John Singletary’s story is one of accountability, perseverance, and transformation. Growing up without many of the opportunities or privileges others enjoyed, John often desired things that were beyond his financial reach. Those choices eventually led him down the wrong path and resulted in a five-year prison sentence for armed robbery. John accepts his past, paid his debt to society, and made the decision that his mistakes would not define his future.
During his incarceration, John used his time to prepare for a better life. He took the initiative to learn a trade, develop new skills, and change his mindset. Today, he is flourishing through 101 Fathers of America, using his experiences to build a productive future while mentoring young men and encouraging them to make better choices, stay focused, and avoid the road he once traveled.
Most importantly, John is elated to be home and reunited with his son, Jason. With a renewed sense of purpose, he looks forward to building memories, creating opportunities, and planning a brighter future for them both. John’s journey is proof that a difficult chapter does not have to become the entire story. He has paid his dues, found his purpose, and is committed to “maintaining altitude” as he continues moving forward.
